Our project is almost complete! As of our ninth draft we have all scenes and shots in order, edited and generally tweaked. It is still not finished but all we need is a few finer alterations.
In our second rendition of Murk we added a slightly darker colour filter. This improved the overall look of the film, making it look more cinematic and adding to the horror feel.
Draft 03
We completed and input our second lot of filming in draft 3. For now we simply ordered and cut down the shots.
Unhappy Life Pictures is the production company comprising of 2 producers, Luke Warren(Me) and Ewan McConnachie, Emily Rose Sharp, our screen play writer, and our director Amber Castillo-Roman.
Our first official project is the horror movie Murk.
A camera is the most important item for filming our horror opening.
Camera bag
Not only for carrying the camera, but the camera bag can hold other things while we're filming, like the lens cap so we won't loose it on set.
Tripod
The tripod is essential for filming in order to keep the camera steady while filming.
Computer
We will use a computer to store and edit our files. We plan to bring some form of easily transportable computer replacement while filming, like a phone or laptop, so we can access our blogs and planning at a moments notice if necessary.
Torch
Considering our movie is a horror, lighting will play a great part when setting up the scene. Therefore, a form of altering the lighting to our advantage would be helpful.
We practiced using these by filming a quick scene, while also practicing other media techniques.
For our initial discussion of a prop to plan, we made brief notes on paper, rather than bullet pointing the conversation on my tablet like the costume planning.
Our main character's detective badge was our first thought fore a potential prop. Though it may be a part of his costume at first, we figured it would become a prop when he uses it to open doors. The same could apply to the mask the murderer wears, we threw around ideas for dramatic, significant shots of the murderer putting on and taking off the mask, in which instance it would be prop The murder weapon, a knife, was something we have previously discussed. We decided on a knife rather than a gun or a sword as it makes for a much more personal murder.
